Amazon is telling me that an ASIN, that I set up in 2014, and is a product that only I manufacture, is controlled by another seller that I've never heard of. I cannot update photos for product changes due to this. Amazon insists that this other seller won the right to control this listing!?

September 14, 2024How To Change (or request change) To Product Type, Not Just Category
The best way to do this change is by opening a case on brand registry portal and not seller central. I have used the below script and it has worked 99% of the time: Hi We are seeing that the ProductGroup (or ProductType) value for the ASIN XXXXX is set as "YYYYY" which is incorrect. The correct value needs to be "ZZZZ". We are the brand owner and seller for this ASIN but are still not able to change this value. More on reddit.com

Assuming you want to have goodreads integration so that books you're reading on the Kindle that are sideloaded via Calibre, you will want to get the asin from the Amazon store, put it into the field as shown in the picture (i.e. no spaces), and after converting to azw3 format, run the "fix ASIN for Kindle Fire" quality check.
