$25k monthly storage fee from Amazon
I’m currently disputing mine. It was 6x it’s normal cost. We have 4 weeks of inventory according to the dashboard and 700cubic feet on average. It was supposed to be $1600 with the new q4 prices and it was $2500 charged. It’s insane how much money they take at every turn. More on reddit.com

Amazon FBA Fee History changes since the beginning of Amazon
I predict a lot of complaints from people who think $3.43 per unit is too unreasonable in exchange for being able to take advantage of amazons IP, trust, customer base, and one of the most efficient logistics systems ever created, all while never having to self fulfill orders. Every time it comes up, people who would be broke or working a wage slave job without Amazon seem to be very angry that they arent getting things for free. More on reddit.com
When does Amazon Storage Fee Actually Begin -- in Transit or Arrival
It's based off a report that says average units/days the product is in the FCs. I'm pretty sure this would be triggered upon receiving. Your question is does it active during the FC Transfer period? I would guess it does. You'd have to do an experiment to actually find out. More on reddit.com

Amazon FBA Fees Explained: A Guide to FBA Seller Costs in 2025
September 30, 2025 - It’s also worth noting that while packaging is included in FBA fulfillment fees, Amazon will ship your products in Amazon-branded boxes. This means that Amazon’s branding is front and center, which can eclipse any brand experience you intend to create through your shipping. While this may not be a deal breaker, it’s worth keeping in mind. In order to participate in the FBA program, you’ll have to store at least some of your inventory in Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Amazon charges a monthly storage fee per cubic foot of space you use to store your products in their facilities.

November 9, 2023 -
We got suddenly hit with $25k "storage fee". Looking at all previous periods and we have no storage charges so can't understand why this has happened.
Have already created a case but wondering if anyone else have had this issue / recommendations on what steps to take?
Thanks

It’s Q4. Storage costs increase in Oct-Dec. What’s your storage utilization. What did you pay in prior months? I saw a brand get hit similarly. They stocked up for Q4, stuffed extra for MCF, and then saw storage rates go up 3x on top of their 3x increase in space utilization.

I've been reading about some people paying 20k a month for storage fees on their inventory. How do sellers overcome this?

If you have a bunch of garbage low cost low velocity items the, yes, you don’t overcome these fees. If you have millions of $$ of live inventory then $20k isn’t so much, is it?

Storage fees have never been more than 1% of revenue, even during peak season. If you're paying a significant portion of revenue to storage fees you're doing it wrong
