I'm looking at this renewed 65" A80J TV on Amazon for ~$1500. My price range is about $1500 and I saw that if I went the renewed route, I could afford this 65" OLED. Should I pull the trigger or should I settle for a regular LED TV?

I would check if you get a Sony extended warranty on it? Their plan is better than some of the other ones out there.

They can be had for $150 to $200 less than brand new. Come with full warranty. Extended warranty available (which I nearly always buy.) The price difference makes the Samsung Q90c very attractive vs the QCc.

It's probably not worth it at that little of a discount. I purchased an open box TV from Amazon 6 or 7 years ago. Just after the warranty expired, I had to do a service call because remote sensor went bad on the TV. It had been acting up for a while, but I didn't know why, then just stopped working all together. LG wouldn't cover the cost of the part or service. So... yeah, I got screwed. I eventually ordered the part and replaced it on the TV myself. There is also some weird backlight bleed on the TV that I just accepted and try to ignore when I see it. It ultimately led me to believe that's why it was an open box, probably a return and I got stuck with the issues. It wasn't labeled as refurbished, though, so who knows what happened to one that's been fixed in some way.

I’ve purchased a refurbished TV from them but through Woot, which is owned by Amazon. I also purchased the extended warranty through Amazon after the fact just in case, which I have two years left and so far it’s been going great. It was for my guest bedroom, and I could get the Q90T for the price of a new Q60B which I thought was a great get.
