this is not the same for everyone. you may have some special circumstances on your account. for me, ive been a prime member for years and years and years. paying full price. a few months ago my renewal was coming up -- would you believe i never knew amazon had a education discount! soooo what i did was use my .edu address and signed up direct through the amazon website and boom goes the dynamite i got the 6 months free and what 6-7 dollars a month? so i did not have to submit any documents. im based in the US.
