I'm unaware of an Amazon-specific tracking #. Amazon tracks via their shipper, unless it's AMZL, their own Uber-like shipping service, which they cannot track. And, I'm only aware of buyer access to shipping info. If the buyer wants to share that, and you have a delivery service you can query, you might have luck.

I have a gift coming to me via Amazon, and I have the Amazon tracking number.
Whenever I try to find out how to track the shipment, Amazon only tells me to click on "My Orders."
Well, this wouldn't be in there because it isn't one of my orders. It's a gift.

When you say "Amazon tracking number," do you mean you have the Amazon order number (looks like ###-#######-########), or that you have a USPS/FedEx/UPS shipment tracking number?

When it is actually on its way, you will get a tracking number. If you've ordered it but haven't received a "Your order has shipped!" email, don't mark it as shipped.

go to amazon, click on Orders at the Top and a list of your orders comes up. then see that big yellow box that says TRACK PACKAGE, click it and scroll all the way down to the bottom til you see tracking number and method of delivery :) on the left side

If you're on the app, and you're in the orders section and looking at your particular shipment, there's a button that says SHARE TRACKING and it gives you a link you can click and it will display the movement of the package there. Sadly, this button isn't on the web version of Amazon

My order has been delayed. It went from a TBA (Amazon Logistics tracking number) to a UPS tracking number. But the UPS tracking number doesn’t exist in the UPS system. Is this weird? Will my package ever arrive? Thanks!

Could be the number hasn't been "activated" yet. When amazon processes the shipment a tracking number is generated for the package, but it won't appear in UPS' system until they receive the package and process it. As for why UPS hasn't received the package? Anyone's guess. When this happened to us at a warehouse I used to work in, the most common cause was the package being put on the wrong truck, as we had multiple different companies we used to ship items. For the most part, those packages were lost for good, we almost never got them back. Of course, we would rectify the situation for the customer by sending out a replacement part. Hopefully, Amazon will do the same for you.
