What should I call "Void" in a game that has both fantasy and future elements?
Void Between the Worlds and Power of the Void tropes. How do you guys handle these tropes?
What is the opposite of The Void?
What is your favorite synonym for the void, nothingness, the emptiness of space?
How does the adjective 'void' contrast with its synonyms?
Some common synonyms of void are blank, empty, vacant, and vacuous. While all these words mean "lacking contents which could or should be present," void suggests absolute emptiness as far as the mind or senses can determine.
// a statement void of meaning
When might 'empty' be a better fit than 'void'?
The synonyms empty and void are sometimes interchangeable, but empty suggests a complete absence of contents.
// an empty bucket
In what contexts can 'vacuous' take the place of 'void'?
Although the words vacuous and void have much in common, vacuous suggests the emptiness of a vacuum and especially the lack of intelligence or significance.
// a vacuous facial expression
I am making a game and am working on my story. However I can't think of a nice name for my "Void". The void I am using in my game, is one in between time and space. The player and npc can draw power from this dimension to harness a form of magic, this magic is dark and tainted but can be used for many different purposes. The magic I am referring to would be "Gift" but taking it by force from the void would be called "Harvesting".
I don't just want to call it "The void" as I have my human Empire called "Emporiae" and Arenmal( +- elves) society "Orlthyr". I want to have a nice name but am a bit stuck on what to call it.
