Any idea what Apple asks for you to buy an Apple product with the students discount?

Is there anything stopping me from selecting the education pricing when buying a Mac even though I am not enrolled at an institution? Do they ever check at any point in the process? Is this uncouth of me to ask? Thanks
Hi everyone!
I'm a university student from Brazil and I'm traveling to Canada soon. I was wondering if it's possible to buy a MacBook using Apple Education Pricing while I'm in Canada, even though I don't study there.
When purchasing online through the Canadian Apple Education Store, I noticed that they don’t ask for any student verification upfront (no UNiDAYS or document upload). But I’m concerned about whether they verify your student status at the moment of in-store pickup or delivery.
I also read that during the Back to School period, when Apple includes a free pair of AirPods with the purchase, they tend to be stricter with verification. So I’m not sure if they might ask for proof at pickup or cancel the order.
My questions:
Has anyone ever purchased a Mac (or other device) through the education store in a country where you don’t actually study?
Do they ask for student ID, enrollment letter, or other proof when picking it up?
Has anyone had their order cancelled or rejected for this?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s been through a similar situation recently. Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone, as the title says, I was wondering how apple confirms I am a student? Either through buying it in person or on the online store
I am asking because I will be in the usa for a while but I study online at a Canadian college, I was also wondering if being a Canadian student would not allow me to get the discount in the US?
It’s kind of expensive so I am looking to save as much as I can, I really need the laptop right now
So, I bought an iPad for school hoping to get a discount + a gift card. It appeared as such at checkout but as soon as I went on my bank statement, turns out I got charged for the iPad with the discount, and then the grift card. Anyone had the same experience?
Just wanted to let fellow Canadians know that Apple just extended their annual education store bonus to Canada today. So you get a gift card of $200Cdn if you buy a new laptop from the education store which is open to the entire public, student or not. 200 is the max they give, but I’m pretty sure you still get a gift card if you get an iPad or something, it will prob just be less $. I got this promo last year when I bought the M2 Mb Air and they gave a $210 gift card to be used within the Apple Store and App Store only. It is kind of nice to have that balance sitting there paying for my iCloud and music subscription for years to come. So just thought I’d let everyone know it’s officially here as of today June 22nd 2023. Launched in the U.S. already at the most recent keynote a couple weeks ago
Looking to buy a base model of MBA, and I had gone through the whole ordeal of selecting the specs and adding to cart on the normal website. Then I realized I might as well check if there are any discounts for students, and I found a link to it from a simple google search. This website takes me through the same exact process of selecting the laptop, and specs, and adding to cart WITH A LOWER PRICE! Does it at one point confirm that I am a student? I am second guessing if this is legit because it doesn't seem smart. Wouldn't anyone, student or not, just use this website for lower price? Or will it confirm all the way at the last point and I just haven't got to it yet. Obviously I want the discounted price, just don't know if it's legit.
Please help put my mind to rest.

I am a university student in Canada, and I want to buy some Apple products. Can I use my student discount/student ID from Canada, travel to New Hampshire in the United States, and use my Canadian University Student ID to get the student discount in NH? I am asking this because NH is a no-tax state, and I will save $300+ CAD from tax with my current shopping bag.
Gas isn't a problem because I will go to the States for vacation anyway.
Hello Apple community, this is a question for people who have friends/family as Apple employees or are Apple employees themself.
Currently with student discount, I see you can get about 10% off and a $150 giftcard with included while buying the new iPad in Canada. Is this the best discount/savings you can get or is the Apple Employee discount better? Can you use both discount offers or just one? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! I have a few friends that work for Apple and wanted to see what was the best course of action for myself. Thanks!
Hi I’m looking to buy a macbook pro soon and I’d like to take advantage of the student discount, even though I am not a student
Can I just buy and pay online and then pick up in the store? Will they verify any student document?
Any tips on that?
I live in Orlando, FL
To my knowledge, there is no verification required in Canada to order on the Apple Education store online to get the discount.
However what I am not totally clear on is if I order it online but for in store pickup, will they ask me for student verification when i pick it up?
Im not really a student and just want to save the $130 but don’t want to get in trouble 😂
Thanks!
A few days ago, I bought a MacBook online via Apple’s Education Store replace my 2014 MacBook Air as it had given up on me (question mark folder on startup) as I urgently needed it.
I was interested in AppleCare+ after buying the laptop as I understand you have to get it within 60 days of when you made the laptop purchase.
How would I get the AppleCare+ with the student education discount added (it’s currently 20% off) after buying a brand new MacBook?
Any help is appreciated.
Does anyone know when the US and Canadian Apple Back to School offers will begin?
I think it began on June 5 in the US and June 23 in Canada last year. When would it start, in your opinion? I'm excited to purchase the iPad and M3 MacBook Air, and I think they come with gift cards right?
Hi!
Next month, will be traveling to the USA to visit some parents. Taking the opportunity to go there, will be upgrading my M1 Air MacBook into the M4 Air.
I saw on Apple Store that there is a student discount there.
My question is: Is this discount from any university worldwide? Like, I have my UNiDAYS account verified, but the university is from Brazil. Is this enough to get the students discount?
Planning on getting a base model Mac Mini M4 and don't want to spend $900+. So I am thinking on buying from the education store instead (Total came down to $760). But will it ask m to verify if I am a legitimate student? I know that users in the UK are having issues, but I'm Canadian.
