What is the difference between the Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 6?
The Apple Watch Series 5 is not water proof, but is water resistant to 50 Metres. Yes the watch can be used while walking under the pour and rain, and Swimming, but there is a limit to how much it can take. The Apple Watch comes with a “water lock” function. It should be activated before you expose the watch to any water. When water lock is activated, the watch face will not not respond to any touch, so as to prevent accidental touch and opening of certain applications. Once you are done with your water activity, turn the crown of your Apple Watch to deactivate the water lock. It “blasts” the water out of the speakers so as to remove water that has seeped into the watch. This is done by the watch playing a sound at a certain frequency. It is advised not to put the watch through high pressures of water that could increase the likelihood of water seeping into your watch. Also, Once done with the watch in the sea, or if the watch has been exposed to any soaps or lotions (best to avoid) rinse the watch in warm fresh water, and dry it off. Basically, don’t put your watch through any unnecessary pressure that could damage it. Technology and water never go well together, it just depends on how cautious you are. More on quora.com

Should I buy an Apple Watch 6 or wait for 7? - Quora
Answer (1 of 8): Imagine if the latest was 6, and it was the best a smartwatch could get. Is there some feature you’d crucially be missing from it? If no, then the Apple Watch 7 would essentially get you one more(attractive, but essentially useless feature) for an extra premium.

Apple Watch Series 7 review: It’s a Series 6 (with a slightly bigger screen) | Ars OpenForum
November 17, 2021 - I don’t get the recommendation of Series 6 over Series 7 to save $50???
