You are really misleading people. Milei, has barely any power in Congress, he only uses decrees...which of course can be invalidated by Congress. He tried and is still trying to keep a surplus on the budget, or at least not going into deficit. But Congress, and many governors successfully push more spending... destroying the only tool Milei has. Why is it so important for Argentina to have surplus? Because of the interest rate. When Milei took office Argentina had to pay 25% more interest on top of the international rate. At one point it came down to 8%, but with these congressional losses creditors are losing hope on Argentina paying its debts... remember the problem is the interest rate, the debt to GDP ratio in Argentina is not a problem. Milei's plan is to get cheaper loans to pay for the higher interest rate ones...and rollover debt as a normal country. More on reddit.com
