This is for a Rog Strix z790-E mobo. The fan control is literally the only reason I have Armoury Crater (AC) installed but on the last update to 6.1.13.0, the fan control seems to have vanished. I do see FanXpert in settings update center as last updated 2025/02/17 but I see no way to access the setup screen (needed to retrain fans).
The fans seem to now be controlled by the BIOS setup which is better than nothing but it can't be adjusted without rebooting and besides, the BIOS can't control fans according graphics temp. I believe all the required software is installed. What do I need to do to get it back? Can I reinstall a prior version of AC?
I updated Armory Crate last night to the new UI and layout and I cannot for the life of me find the fan control anymore. It used to be right on the opening page but now it's gone. I've searched through the whole app and can't find it. I see the fan speed, and can click individual fans, but it just highlights it and gives no options.
My PC likes to boot with fans pretty much all the way up. Haven't been able to fix it and just turning down the fan speed in the app has been working for as long as I've had it. Now after this update it's just gone. Where did it go?

Hi! My Armoury crate got updated to the latest update 5.3.4.0, and ever since, my Fan Speed controls have disappeared. Any suggestions?
I'm not sure why, but Armoury Crate has been working incorrectly. My fan hotkey, and AC hotkey aren't working. My AuraSync isn't and I also can't change/control fan speed. Does anybody know of a fix?
I have an Asus B450 II Motherboard and I was suggested to use fan control for my motherboard and delete armoury crate to remove bloatware, well I noticed that fan control cannot detect my fans if I dont open Armoury Crate and even when deleting Armoury crate it still won't detect the fans without it. If anyone can help out that would be amazing, thank you!
hey
i have an asus tuf f15 laptop (tuf506lu) , just got it.
i am pretty sure in the first few days i was able to control fan speed through armory crate. like if i set it to turbo, the fans will spin at a high rpm even if the laptop isn't doing anything.
now i feel like those modes have no control over the fans' speed, its just automatic. if the pc is under no load, it will stay quiet no matter what mode it's in, with the occasional ramp ups. with the exception of when im in games, silent mode reduce rpm to 3300 and both turbo and performances set it to 4400.
how can i fix this issue please ?
also, i think the maximum rpm is supposed to be 5600 ? am i wrong ? cuz my laptop never reached that no matter what.
Armoury crate and asus bios is shit. You should take a look at the program called atrofac, it was made for g14 but it works perfectly for my tuf fx505dt. It allows you to set manual fan curves. Do not forget to set refresh interval to 4 seconds so it re-applies per 4 seconds. My fans are working like an airplane engine again, and i get higher cpu clocks.
The core of this problem, I believe, because of the BIOS. The fan curves set by armoury crate and any other programs gets reset (fans ramping up for few seconds, and goes back to lower speeds), so solution is to re-set them periodically, to override BIOS.
I have no idea if it is a bug or ASUS wanted it that way, but it's surely annoying as hell. [I currently think there is a safety mechanism which re-sets to default curve after a fixed temperature, could be the VBIOS.]
The controls here aren’t to directly control the fan speed, but the fan curve instead. Turbo will apply a minor overclock to GPU with a harsher fan curve, ramping up the fans earlier, Silent will slowly ramp up the fans but will cap out at a lower speed, lowering noise and performance. Balanced will pretty much allow the card to operate at full speed, like turbo, but will throttle earlier and applies no overclock.
If you noticed the fans changing instantly on an earlier bios version, then it’s probably just Asus tuning the profiles a bit to make the fan curves more efficient.
