I would go with glue down sheet vinyl before click vinyl any day. Actually some sheet vinyl has gotten pretty decent. But you’ll prob need to put down 1/4 inch sanded plywood if you don’t already have under layment More on reddit.com

Just bought Armstrong vinyl premium roll flooring for my kitchen. Contractor rolled it out and started relief cuts as I was watching. We he go 3/4 of the way done the flooring had several defects. I am the one who was with him as I purchased it at Menards. It was on a fresh roll and recent manufacturing date so it wasn’t old stock. Anyway. I called Armstrong and asked about their warranty. They said not their problem. Call where I purchased. Went to Menards and talked to customer service Manager showed him pictures and reciepts After getting runaround. He offered $24.00 refund on over $900.00 of flooring. I immediately called their corporate office and also got runaround. I then called Menards. Credit Card issuer and put in decrepinsy and. Told them about defective product. They aren’t getting paid until I get just reimbursement. Contractor says he can cut and seam repair the flooring but will cost me over $250 extra. I'm talking silurian supreme tough. the only upside for some people is is more flexible and you can't tear it which can make installation easier. I don't gauge quality on how easy it is to install. The Armstrong materials with that Tough Guard finish are really nice, and tough like they say.

April 5, 2004 - It is still in very good condition except for every now and then there are little rust colored spots (the vinyl is mostly an off-white with some blue). They remind me of spots where spaghetti sauce or something dropped has stained it. I don't think that's the case however. Someone told me that it was glue coming up through. If that's true why is it just every now and then. Smallest spots are about the size of a pencil, larger ones are irregular shaped half-dollars. We layed the 1/4" floor sheeting below the vinyl when we installed it.

After the first month of general use the flooring is full of scratches and I don't even know where they came from. Also, Armstrong tells you that the adhesive bond becomes permanent after several weeks but even 3 months after installing I can still pull the planks apart.

I have a big house (2500 sf) and need all the carpet replaced. Seriously it’s over 20- years old and is a disaster. Money is tight. I need something waterproof because I have elderly cats. Sheet vinyl seems like the most affordable option, but I am curious as to everyone’s thoughts on it. What is a reasonable price per square foot? Tia!

Sheet vinyl is cheap. $1 sqft. But installation costs are another $2-$3 ( if you want them to get rid of carpet too) And nothing you want to DIY without experience. What kind of subfloor?

Around the internet, I see a good deal of reservations with respect to Armstrong. I've not been in the industry for long and am trying to understand the dislike toward it.
I've also noticed that it's been selling a good amount during this COVID flooring craze. So I'm wondering why it's selling so well if it's so bad. Thanks :)

Our expensive vinyl tiles yellowed to a smokers brown within 2 years (even parts not in the sun) and will have to be replaced. Hard pass.
