I know this thread is old but I just want to share my experience with 5201 and subsequent 5302 BIOS on the X570 Dark Hero with a 5950x processor. These BIOS really did a number on my system and it seems like the power delivery for the system got messed up by this BIOS update. I had zero issues with my system before I updated and immediately after the update I had USB power issues and CPU power issues. There is definitely something going on with it, I am just not exactly sure what it is. I also heard that an earlier version of 5201 was pulled after being up for a short time because of these exact issues but apparently the re uploaded version fixed them. I have talked with ASUS and they said they are going to look into it so maybe we will have something soon. I would just reconsider updating to 5201 or 5302 for right now until we have more answers or maybe it was just a few of us that had issues. People on the ASUS forums that have had issues say they had to do some work arounds to make their systems stable after 5201 and 5302. Hopefully this can help someone avoid the issues I am having currently Take care. More on reddit.com

Just in case anyone was thinking of upgrading their am4 crosshair viii dark hero board to bios 4805 that released a few days ago, it breaks the ability to control the board LEDs such that ‘off’, ‘black’, ‘dark’, etc. is bright green. Breaks any aura designs you have that include the board. A few stock ones work but almost everything resolves to static bright green.
I downgraded back to 4702 and the issue was completely resolved. Just wanted to post it because I didn’t see anyone else who struggles with obsessive compulsive tendencies post about it on any of the boards I read.

Hi Everyone,
Hoping someone can assist and advise why I am getting the following error.
I wanted to update my BIOS to the latest version, currently it is the same as when I received it (v.2503). EZ Update shows no available updates if I use AI Suite 3. I have downloaded the BIOS update from the website and tried to do a manual option, which tells me the BIOS image doesn't match my current motherboard. Considering the Dark Hero doesn't have a non wi-fi variant I am not aware of any other image available.
I don't want to attempt the old fashioned way via usb until I am sure it won't cause issues. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem with the Dark Hero?

Not sure it will help your specific situation but will share it anyway. After having terrible experiences with AI suite, Armoury crate and basically all the ASUS software I pretty much avoided them on my current build (dark hero/5950x). I've updated the bios twice (3204 and now the latest one) through the utility in the bios menu on a usb. Haven't had any issues so far. Its sad that ASUS software always kinda works in the beginning but eventually stops working and your left with dead software laying around that requires too much effort to try get to work again.

Hi all asus master people, i was asking myself if it is worth it upgrade from bios version 3601 to 4201, and if it is worth should i go by step or can i safely upgrade directly to the latest with no issue? I'm not having particolar problem at the moment with the 3601 just some freeze sometime that i don't even know if they come from the mobo firmware at all.

I own a 14900k and a Z790 Dark Hero motherboard on bios 1202. I have crashes with games for a long time now. I was considering flashing to the latest bios with the Intel Microcode update 0x125. I am just making this post to get input from other Dark Hero owners who have flashed the latest bios and whether they regret it or not. I heard it can cause more crashes so I haven't tried it yet.

Hello. I have a Z790 Dark Hero with a 13900K. Currently, I am on BIOS version 1102, and at least in my case, with this BIOS I do not have any stability problems. The games run perfectly well, the equipment works with excellent temperatures (Thanks to the brutal cooling of the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity Performance 360) despite all the news that is circulating out there, regarding the Intel problem that is occurring in the processors from 13th and 14th gen. I have not wanted to update BIOS to a more recent version, since I am afraid that due to the problem I mentioned above, Intel intends to reduce the performance of the processors, limiting energy consumption. My cooling is good and effective enough to deal with higher consumption than Intel apparently intends to set as a maximum.

So I have an update for you guys. I flashed the latest bios 1402 on my Dark Hero with a 14900K processor. On first boot I went to the bios screen and set XMP Tweaked 7000 since that's the best my processor can do since purchase and then I clicked Intel Extreme profile and left SVID Behavior on Auto and CPU Loadline on Auto. I also enabled all the other stuff Intel recommends like enhanced thermal velocity etc. Now I booted to Windows and ran the Cinebench 2024 multi core 10 minute test and my result was 1748 points. I then went back to the bios screen and selected Intel Failsafe Svid behavior and left cpu loadline on auto again. I booted into Windows and ran the Cinebench 2024 10 minute multicore test one more time and my result this time was 2063 points.
