Look I was not sure in the light grey, because I think that on a photo it does not impress, but when I got mine the dark one was not available at Best Buy and also, it was more expensive. So I decided to give a go. Man, it looks amazing, super clean, very professional and sleek. The dark grey I am sure it looks fantastic as well, but I can garantee you the light one looks amazing. This laptop is a beauty and a beast on performance, so enjoy it!

Hello I am considering purchasing a laptop and am a sucker for good design aesthetics. Looking at the 4070 32gb ram for work, occasional gaming, some light video editing.
From reviews on reddit Ive gotten a mixed of it gets high temp/ hot even when doing light tasks and some say its quiet and cool when doing basic browsing on silent mode.
What has ur first hand experience been like?

Love the screen, keyboard, chassis, trackpad accuracy, and hardware capability. Speakers are basically as good as a MacBook. I think this is one of the best keyboards out of all the laptops best buy has on display right now. The CPU and GPU are both very capable. Don't love the battery life, trackpad click, and the way the fan seems to spin up under any load whatsoever. I miss the haptic trackpad from my Mac. The accuracy is actually comparable (which is impressive) but only the bottom half of it is easily clickable unless you tap to click. Battery life isn't great compared to non gaming laptops, especially if you only charge to 80%. I haven't done a full discharge but I'd estimate 6-8 hours from 100%for the to end SKU. It's abysmal with the default settings the laptop ships with. Install g helper and disable turbo on battery. I haven't tried undervolting yet. The laptop has a very powerful CPU that struggles to keep power usage low when it's doing anything other than sitting completely idle. The default settings mean the fan runs almost all the time, but with a few tweaks you can get it cool enough to run fanless on battery most of the time. The fans are actually reasonably quiet at higher speeds, but even at lower speeds they're still pretty noticeable compared to a regular laptop. Dislike that I have to hide the windows taskbar to avoid OLED burn in. I'd rather have a non OLED panel for that reason. So, fantastic gaming laptop. Laptop and charger combined probably weigh less than my last gaming laptop. It's powerful, has good peripherals, and enough battery life to use it for a few hours (non gaming) without worrying. As a non gaming laptop it leaves a bit to be desired. Battery life is short and requires fiddling that isn't necessary on other laptops. When doing more than just web browsing (eg installing a steam game, installing Windows updates) the fans come on, it gets pretty warm, and the battery life drops significantly. If you can overlook those things it's an excellent laptop.

Honestly, I think it's incredible! I got mine new for $999, and for that money, I can play most games maxed out while targeting 60fps. Now obviously there are games you're gonna wanna use DLSS and such, and some that you might have to get creative in the settings and make compromises. BUT for how compact and light this thing is, it really has no business getting almost within striking distance of my main gaming rig. Lol I do have some gripes though. But to preface, even if I knew it'd be like this beforehand, I'd still have bought it. Gripe 1: This thing gets concerningly hot sometimes. And I understand that the components are built to handle the temps, but it makes me worry. Like, we're talking CPU temps of like 65-70c, which isn't even that hot in the grand scheme of things, but when it's on your lap and you're barely doing anything, it's kinda worrying. Gripe 1.5: I'm sure there's a background process going on or something, but the CPU will ramp up for no reason sometimes, and with it, the fans. This is an ambitious laptop, but it's probably a good idea to get a cooling pad if you live in hotter areas. Gripe 2: Sometimes the brightness controls won't work. I hear it's something with the standard/eco settings being weird. But the fact that I have to mess around in ghelper or even having to restart is kinda annoying. This is a software thing, so I don't wear this against the hardware obv. It can be patched. Gripe 3: Twice now, once yesterday in fact, the Bluetooth capabilities of the laptop will outright vanish as if the capability no longer exists. It becomes impossible to connect anything, and nothing works to resolve it, even restarting. I learned that you have to HARD RESET the laptop without the power cable plugged in. Not sure if that last part is required, but that's the fix action if it ever happens to you. Again, once you know what to do, it's not the end of the world, but it shouldn't be like this. Gripe 4: I had a key, the 'b' key in fact, get semi stuck/mushy. It's since gotten to a point where I don't notice it anymore, but it was super random and eh, I couldn't tell ya what caused it. And no, I don't drop anything around my electronics so idk. In closing though, if I had to make a list of everything I find awesome with this laptop, it'd be a WAYYYY longer list. I love this thing, even with its quirks, I know most are a matter of patches and optimizations. Anything else like temps are honestly nature of the beast.
