I purchased a pair of pants from lululemon 3 years ago that gave held up. I wear them at least once a week. Wash in cold and hang to dry. I think they’re the On the Fly pants. They roll up at the bottom to make a shorter length in the warmer weather and hit my ankle in the colder weather. They are flattering and professional (I’m a teacher). I often pair them with a hoodie, crew neck t-shirt or long sleeve top when I teach PE or it’s a dress down day. More on reddit.com

It depends on how formal your work is - mine is like a lot of places that have become more casual post-pandemic. Athleta makes some really good city pants (the Brooklyn is my favorite model, but they have several) that are cut more generously through the thigh. They wouldn't cut a true business dress code but I can definitely make them look business casual. Lululemon also has some pants that could pass as work pants. I've also seen pants at both Old Navy and J Crew that are basically pull-on, flowy legs that would be ideal (again, assuming not too strict a dress code). More on reddit.com

Keep a structured jacket and heels at the office and wear washable dresses and tennis shoes. Or wear good quality, walkable flats. Use a shorter jacket with A line and fit n flare. You can get these kinds of dresses lots of places and in lots of colors and sizes. This creates a very formal silhouette. It even can work in federal court, the stuffiest of the stuffy. Nail the silhouette and your clothes will read business even if made with less formal fabrics. I always wear dresses, but there is probably a similar formula for pants. Dresses always read more formal though. Jackets, scarves and accessories can bring the punch and make it modern. Structured cardigans for not as formal, but still formalish. I also wear bike shorts and a comfy jog bra underneath to add to the comfort. Plus no chub rub or panty lines. Anything with a v neck is likely too low for my situation, so jog bras function as a camisole for me. Bonus, I throw on a t shirt and I'm gym ready.
