I recently bought this proccessor but i didnt think it would have a problem with the bios version but it had.
Is there any way to change the version on the bios without buying the oldest processor because then it's guranteed that the bios version will be ok. I bought CH341A and I then learned that its for bricked motherboard bios and not just for changing its version.
Anyone have some solution?
Specs: B350-M
AMD Athlon 200GE
2x8 3200MHz
I think the power supply was 500w
No video card because the athlon has integrated graphics
I'm very new to overclocking and read that the Athlon 200GE can now be overclocked.
Specs: Gigabyte A320M-S2H Athlon 200GE 16GB DDR4 2666 (Dual Channel)
So, I went to update my bios and changed my CPU Ratio from 3.2Ghz to 3.6Ghz.
I went into Windows and found that task manager shows 3.6Ghz as Base speed but when I stress the CPU it can only go @ 3.2Ghz and stuck at around 90% Utilization.
CPU-Z shows 32 as multiplier instead of 34. Core Temp show about the right frequency tho.
I already tried to clear CMOS. Turned off Cool&Quiet and set the multiplier to 35 36 37 39. Sadly, still at stock speeds on Task Manager(Base clock shows overclocked speed) and CPU-Z.
What am I doing wrong?
Im trying to do a BIOS update for my b350m, would a athlon 200ge need a ryzen 2000 ready motherboard? If not can you reccomend one for >70
MSI has b450's for $61
The first gen non-Ryzen APUs are cheaper than the 220GE and are for sure compatible with the first gen boards.

Though, are you sure your B350 motherboard requires a BIOS update in the first place ?Do you already have it ?
Do you know you can request a CPU for free from AMD to perform the upgrade, instead of purchasing one at your own expenses ?
