Analog Crafter from Extra Utilities 2 seems like it. It has nine inventory slots, and anytime the items in those slots match a crafting recipe, it starts crafting. You can configure each slot to accept items from any side, one specific side, or none. So for the pickaxe example, you can say configure the upper slots to accept items from the north, the handle ones from above, and disable the rest. I'm wondering if there is a mod that provides generalized autocrafting.

What I mean is that you do not setup specific ingredients in the grid but only a pattern of ingredients and whichever ingredients you feed to the machine will be fit to the pattern and get autocrafted into the respective results.

Simple example would be to just fill the entire grid with one ingredient to craft ingots into blocks, nuggets into ingots, cobblestone to dense cobblestone etc. You just set the pattern and feed all that different stuff into the machine and get the respective blocks, ingots, etc.

Or you set up a pickaxe pattern and depending on what ingredient for the head you feed into the machine (wood, stone, iron, etc) you get the respective pickaxe.

This could be e.g. a single block where different sides correspond to a different generalized ingredient, or even a multiblock with up to 9 different inputs.

Hey folks,

I'm working on automating some Pam's Harvestcraft recipes. Have drawers full of ingredients inserting into a cyclic auto crafter (link). Trying to craft a sweet pickle for example, if I run out of one ingredient like vinegar, enderio item conduits will just fill up the inventory of the auto crafter with the other ingredients even if I have round robin enabled. If I try using extra utilities 2 transfer filters (which have the option to limit to one stack) with suitable item filtering, the pipe still fills up with other ingredients and flow stops.

Can anyone suggest how I can limit items automatically inserted into a crafter or some sort so crafting can be automated?

I’ve always been more into Tech Mods but my friend hasn’t done any tech so we settled on playing RAD. We are most of the way through it and I was done automating my Mystical Agriculture. It ran for a couple of days with no issues. Logged in today and it was stopped. Found out it was the mechanical Crafter. So I googled and found out EU2 has a bunch of bugs and I don’t think they ever got fixed. So is there a fix to the mechanical crafter? Or is there any other way to autocraft items in EU2?

I would like to set up an auto-crafting-thingy, but my problem is that since the Auto Workbench is so slow it's inventory gets overloaded and the items are spat out when I load it from chests using Buildcraft pipes. Is there any solution to this? For example, any machine that can replace the Auto Workbench, or some way to synchronize the input and output.

Here's a few alternative methods from common mods in packs: Thermal Expansion's Cyclic Assembler. Create a blueprint and assign a recipe to it. Put it in the assembler. Supply power and materials, and it'll auto craft. Toss in upgrades to speed it up. Downside is it requires power, and you can only slave one recipe per assembler. Upside is it's incredibly fast. Extra Utilities' world interaction upgrades. Place barrels in a 3x3 grid. Place a crafting table next to the center-most barrel. Place a transfer node on the table. Put a world interaction upgrade in it. Supply the barrels with the crafting materials. They have to go in the barrels in the same fashion as a 3x3 crafting grid. "Empty" crafting spots don't require empty barrels. Here's a side view of the layout: B = barrel, C = crafting table, T = node B BCT-(transfer pipes)-Chest B Basically, the barrels represent a crafting grid. The transfer node is pulling items from the barrels through the crafting table to craft the item, outputting to pipes. This also works with any configuration of barrels, so you could use a single barrel with melons to auto-craft melon seeds, for example. Downside is that it can take up a lot of room. Upside is it's cheap and great early game. SFM. This one is straight forward. SFM comes with a crafting option. The most compact of all methods, as you can do this with a single chest and a single factory manager. A single factory manager can handle input/output and crafting of items, as long as you provide an attached inventory(ies). On top of that, a single factory manager can perform endless crafting automations. For example, you can have a cobblestone generator outputting to a barrel. Place a factory manager next to the barrel, then place a chest next to the manager. The manager can craft cobble to compressed cobble, then to double compressed, triple, quad, etc etc, using only the barrel, chest and manager. Downside is SFM has a learning curve. Upside is that once you learn it, you will never use anything else. It's vastly superior to all other methods, and potentially compact.
