I'm convinced that B-list influencers made the Babyletto Kiwi Glider popular because it's definitely not worth dropping almost a grand on. There's so much hype online about this chair but it's sooooo not worth it!
First of all, it's not that comfortable. The seat is way too deep, unless your femurs are 3ft long. I'm 5'7" and I have to scoot back every time I sit down to make sure my back is up against the back of the chair. The armrests don't do anything for me at all as a breastfeeding mom. They're low and the cushioning leaves a lot to be desired. And the USB ports are useless. They're on the inside of the armrest, so unless you like having your leg jabbed by the plug, just do what the other 99% of the world does and plug your phone charger into an outlet.
Secondly, the quality is trash. After a couple of months, the chair would click anytime I rocked it. When you're trying to put a baby to sleep and you're annoyed that even your own breathing is too loud and might wake the baby, imagine how much your blood would boil when you sit back in this chair and it starts clicking... This chair has one job and it's to put my baby to sleep not to wake her up after I painstakingly got her down after selling my soul to the devil.
I ended up contacting Babyletto directly and they first asked me to tighten all the bolts. If you have this chair, humor yourself and see how many connections there are under this chair, over or under 300? After checking EVERYTHING I also noticed that one of the screws that connects the chair to the entire rocking/gliding mechanism wasn't even screwed in. The hole in the wood was completely stripped and there was some type of glue used around it. Mind you this is 1 of 4 screws that holds the chair together. So I get back to Babyletto with the update and they want a video of the clicking sound. Weird, but okay, I send them a video of me rocking and clicking away. They goy back to me and said they're going to send me another chair.
So the second chair arrives and... It's totally lopsided. Like comically leaning to the left. At this point I can't believe my luck and my back is killing me from rocking my baby to sleep. I reached back out to Babyletto and they offered me a 40% refund. So now I have 2 defective chairs that I basically spent $500 on - How does that help me? As a new mom to a 4 month old, the last thing I want to deal with is figuring out what to do with these two chairs PLUS look for another one. Oh and I'm also out $500.
Don't even deal with the headache, save your money, and look somewhere else!
