discord is banned in my country.
so im looking for ways to use it without impacting anything else latency-wise.
Can anyone recommend a free VPN extension for Firefox or Chrome, or indeed any browser please.
I am totally new to VPNs and don't want to pay for one as I won't use it that often.
Any advice is much appreciated.
I just want to watch star trek on Netflix and Im kinda broke. Id prefer something thats a chrome extension or something I could use on a Iphone. I tried a vpn chrome extension but couldn't figure out how to change countries/regions. Anything easy to use/beginner friendly would be awesome. Ty!
It has a strict no log policy, 10 mil users and over 30000 ratings. It looks safe enough from the privacy policy. I just need it to access websites
I’ve been using my Chromebook more often for classes and everyday browsing, so I was looking for a VPN that works smoothly as a browser extension instead of installing a full application. I tried a few from the Chrome Web Store, but most of them were either full of ads or slowed everything down to the point where pages barely loaded. After checking some discussions online, I saw a lot of people mentioning Windscribe, so I decided to give its Chrome extension a try.
So far, it’s been working really well. The free version lets me pick different regions to connect through, and sites like YouTube and Reddit run normally. I also tested it on my campus network and it handled the site blocks without any trouble. The 10GB monthly limit after verifying my email has been enough for everyday use, and the connection still feels steady compared to a lot of the “unlimited free” extensions that look questionable.
Is Windscribe still what most people recommend for Chromebook users? Or is there another free Chrome extension that works just as well without needing to install a full VPN client? I’d like to see if there’s anything else worth trying.
A while back someone suggested Hola, however, suggested it was a rather suspect service. I don't know any of the more intricate details.
Others suggested to simply use another browser such as Opera which contains a free VPN for the sites where a VPN was required, but that seems like a crazy resource heavy solution and not very practical.
Would downloading a VPN be better rather than an extension? I don't really have any desktop applications where a VPN would be necessary.
Does anyone have some good VPN extension that allows me to use it connected to the United States?
