In the 2020s, VP of design Nicole Wiesmann has re-envisioned the brand with ad editorial campaigns that evoke luxury brands, and higher-end garments that have been compared favorably with names such as Ralph Lauren and The Row.

Banana Republic is not fast fashion, but Banana Republic Factory is. Banana Republic Factory is on-par with Old Navy for quality with a bit more style, but they mislead people into thinking that "factory" means factory outlet, which it is not. Wow, I’m kinda lost on this one. I left BR about 15 years ago due to the poor quality control and was shocked last year at the vast improvement in quality. Starting last year I rebuilt my wardrobe using BR as a base and am very satisfied with the durability, fit, and pricing. Sorry to hear you are having a difficult experience with them. November 4, 2025is it just me or is banana Republic hard to sell?
The thing about BR, for me as a buyer, is that growing up, I thought BR was high end, good quality stuff. I finally got some in my young adult life, and the quality was horrible. Now, very recently, as in 1-2 years ago, they did a complete refresh of their brand. I took a risk and bought a couple things on sale and they've vastly improved. Bottom line: If I don't recognize something as being from "the new BR", then I won't be buying it secondhand. If I were to sell it, I'd put the manufacture year and make sure I noted it was the newer, better quality stuff. More on reddit.com
