The Beats Fit Pro are essentially the AirPods Pro 1 in a different package. They’re missing features like Qi charging and their ANC isn’t as good as the AirPods Pro 2. It’s fine, but not worth their full MSRP. I wouldn’t buy a pair at this point. They’re old and in need of an update. Some think they’re going to get an update this Fall. The PowerBeats Pro 2 are just around the corner. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Fit Pro 2 are released after that and are just the PowerBeats Pro 2 in a smaller package. If ANC and sound quality are your priority (and you have an Apple device), go with the AirPods Pro 2. If you have an Android phone, you’re better off with earbuds from competitors like Sony or JBL. Hell, they’re even worth considering if you have an iPhone. The AirPods Pro 2 don’t fit my ears, so I have the JBL Tour Pro 3. Same level of ANC with longer battery life and better audio quality I can tune to what I want. The new Sony LinkBuds Fit are coming my way in two weeks when they launch. I’ll bug AirPods when Apple adds wings tips because none of their earbuds comfortably fit my ears except the PowerBeats Pro. The Fit Pro hurt my ears after just half an hour. the two main thing I want to is sound quality and noise cancellation. I tried the airpods pro 2 and the noise cancellation is amazing. I was wondering if the beats fit pro comes close to the noise cancellation of app2

The main reason to choose Beats Fit Pro over AirPods Pro 2 is retention. The wings will keep BFP in your ears much better than APP2. I own both and use BFP for workouts because they stay in my ears. However, I find that they will hurt my ears if I wear them for an extended period of time. When I first got them a couple of years ago they took some getting used to and my ears were sore the first week or so. I recently bought APP2 and they sound much better and are more comfortable than BFP. They have a few other advanced features like adaptive audio and conversation awareness. They also have the advanced FindMy support and wireless charging, but those are more bonus features than necessary. However, I have also had some issues keeping them in my ears. I have tried a couple of third party tips and I like the feel better than the originals.

February 18, 2025 - It all depends on how you plan to use the earbuds. For regular day-to-day use, the AirPods Pro 2 are the way to go. But, if you plan to also use your earbuds for any sort of workout, pick up the Beats Fit Pro.

Hi all, I got some beats fit pros for Christmas and I’m not liking them. The noise cancellation is poor at best and the fit isn’t great. I wondered if I’d notice the difference the AirPod Pro 2nd generation if I were to return them? Many thanks! More on forums.macrumors.com

Beats fit pro vs. Airpods Pro

I have AirPods Gen 1, Pros and Beats Fit Pro, so I can compare.

Between Gen 1 and Pros the former have the better fit (despite all the fancy eartips I got for Pros). But the battery life of Gen 1 is disappointing now (I barely get 40 minutes of music listening time from them - but that's due to the fact that I bought them in 2018).

I got AirPods Pro in 2020 hoping that they would replace my Gen 1 as workout headphones. Didn't happen - despite all the fancy eartips they were still falling and the control scheme when you have to squeeze the stem isn't really sport-friendly.

Beats Fit Pro are the almost ideal workout headphones for me - good battery life, lots of features, good fit (i.e. they don't fall out regardless of what I do, including acrobatics) and a usable control scheme. They would probably be even better with earhook design similar to Powerbeats Pro (and with Lightning charging port instead of USB-C), but those are my only two complaints so far.

How do you pair the Apple AirPods Pro 2 and the Beats Fit Pro?

If you have an iOS or iPadOS device, when you open the AirPods Pro or Beats Fit Pro case near your phone, a card will pop up on your screen prompting you to connect. If you are pairing either to any other device, the steps are the same as pairing any Bluetooth device.

  1. Enable Bluetooth on the device you want to connect to.
  2. On the AirPods Pro case, with the case open, hold the setup button on the back of the case until the LED blinks. On the Beats Fit Pro, with the case open, hold the system button on the case until the LED blinks.
  3. Choose the AirPods Pro or Beats Fit Pro in the Bluetooth menu to connect.

December 4, 2024 - I think I’ve only flown once since I got the Beats, and I’ve used them a couple of times on the train. They’re not 100% effective, but they do mitigate the worst of the sound of screaming kids and mewling infants. I have been less impressed with the AirPods’ noise cancelling. I thought being a generation ahead in terms of chip that they would be miles better, but if anything they’re not as good. This might be to do with a less-than perfect fit in my ears.

March 18, 2025 - AirPods Pro’s transparency mode still rules. Sounds super natural, like you’re not even wearing earbuds. Their new “adaptive” mode automatically dials down super loud sounds (like sirens) to under 85dB. Oh, and if you’ve got an Apple Watch, you can watch the noise reduction live in the Noise app—kinda neat! Why pay extra for Beats Fit Pro over Studio Buds?
