Bellows Film Lab in Wicker Park: what’s been going on?
Bellows are for suckers - best $15 spent this year
What to use as cheap bellows
Looking for info on this bellows & the best way to get it to someone that wants it.
You don't give a location. Look up "living history museums" in your area. Failing that, try contacting local blacksmiths via ABANA.org => Affiliate List.
Or just advertise it for cheap on Craigslist or the like.
It looks salvageable to me. All the leather and probably the nozzle would need replacement, but that is not too much to ask to get a working great bellows.
More on reddit.comI’ve been going to Bellows for a little over a year now, and it was smooth sailing for a while; if it was 24hr turnaround time they had scans sent almost exactly around 24hrs later.
Now, regardless of what type of film you have (B&W and color), the 24hr / 72hr deadlines are almost never made. The last 10 or so rolls I’ve dropped off have been multiple days late and I had to call each day asking when they would be ready, with each call ending in “oh we’re sorry, they’ll be done by the end of the day” which usually means another 24-48 hours. On top of that, their B&W development machine is broken, so now the only option is 72hr + however many day delay.
Paying $20+ per roll to develop and scan only to call each day its late in order to get them sent is so irritating.
