Are Noise-Cancelling Earbuds Worth It?
The best wireless earphones that deliver audiophile-pleasing audio and excellent ANC can easily cost over $300, but those aren't your only options. We're starting to see some worthwhile, budget-friendly alternatives that deliver commendable noise cancellation and sound quality for under $100.
Whether they are worth the money depends on the character of noise in your environment and how much it prevents you from focusing on whatever you need to do. If you can't think clearly without silence or (at least) a greater sense of quiet, noise-cancelling earphones are well worth the peace of mind.
Once you find the perfect pair, check out our stories on five easy tips to extend the life of your headphones and eight ways you're using them wrong.
Is it worth buying cheap earbuds?
Yes, cheap earbuds are not necessarily bad, and for most people, spending around $100 will generally merit sufficient sound quality and even features like noise cancelation.
Can I charge my true wireless earbuds' case without the earbuds inside?
Yes, you can always charge the case, even if the earbuds are not in the case.
Does anyone have any recs for noise cancelling earbuds under $100? I've looked into the Bose and Sony options reccomended on other posts and unfortunately they're not in the cards at the moment. Thanks!
Hi, I'm looking for a new pair of earbuds. My number one requirement is pretty good ANC, as my house is pretty noisy and I need a quiet environment. I would also prefer an "airpods-like" shape, as those tend to stay in my ear pretty well. My next priority is sound quality, particularly a good mid-range. A good app/equalizer would also be nice but is not a requirement. What earbuds fit these criteria?
