Can I just buy an Akai MPK Mini MK3 and start making music or do I need special software and stuff?
Is The 'AKAI Professional MPK Mini MK3' A Good Beginner MIDI?
Beginner: Can't decide between the AKAI MPK Mini and the Arturia Minilab 3...
Thoughts on the Akai MPK Mini? Looking to add a MIDI keyboard to my setup.
It does the job for me and my small space. However I'd love to have at least a 49 key. Feels quite limited when you actually wanna play something on a 25 key that's anything more than a single octave melody.

I’m a complete newb to digital music making. I play the drums but just moved into a tiny apartment in the city and can’t drum anymore. I’ll probably get an electronic drum set some day but I was looking into making music via some other way and I like listening to beats and electronic type music. Im not trying to spend a lot of money so I saw this Akai Professional MPK Mini MK3 and want to know if that’s all I need to start making cool music. Or do I also need some special software like a Abelton or protools? I’d rather not have to buy expensive pro software since I’m just trying it out and not trying to spend a lot. Also do I need to buy sample sounds or does the akai come with all of this? And should I even buy the akai or is there something better that is around the same price? Thanks!
