ok a little background:
for my birthday about 6 months ago i got a 2nd hand G27 wheel and i drift in assetto with it but i really like the look of forza, carx street etc... but they all cost alot of money and i dont have too much.
i got JDM: Rise of the Scorpion but ive finished that game and then i got the forza horizon 4 demo on the microsoft store but deleted it after a week because doing the same thing over and over again because its doesnt save progress was annoying.
so to get to the point does anyone know and free (or very cheap) open world racing games that support a wheel and have decent graphics?
all comments help and ill try to reply to most of them
(P.S. sorry for bad grammmer)

Okay hear me out, my favorite racing game is Gran Turismo 2 and my favorite thing with this game is that you just buy the game, chose a car, and have fun. No battle pass, no micro transactions, no ads in between the races, no DLC. Is this too much to ask nowadays ? Also I would like real cars if possible but it's not my main concern.
What are some good racing games?
Keep in mind all I have is a controller
I tried to play forza 5 but the one I disliked was the scripted events it hsd, and also the tuning mechanics and how vastly overwhelming everything is, also the game doesn't really have races for the first missions?? Open world fun but idk couldn't really enjoy it.
Would love to try any other racing games or open world driving games.
Or games you play custom tracks made by other players?
I don't really have much of a budget at the moment. (max 10โฌ but less is better) But I'm going on a trip and would love to play a race game. Went through some old posts but couldn't find any cheap enough games. Can you recommend any? Thank you in advance
I've tried and tried to find a good answer to this but I can't.
I got a Logitech g29 and have mostly played Gran Turismo 7 with psvr2. However, I'm getting a quest soon and am hoping to switch over to PC to have a wider range of compatibility (thinking of a csl dd but don't want to spend an extra 350 dollars just for playstation compatibility)
I've tried asetto Corsa. Worst experience I've ever had. The force feedback was... Very fake. And I adjusted every setting as recommended by articles and people in this subreddit and no matter what I did it felt so fake. It would randomly give me details like I was skidding out on dirt when in reality I was just driving in a straight line. Not to mention the turns felt god awful and the entire wheel was shaking so much I thought it was going to break.
I tried competisione on PS5 with ps plus, and it was a very similar experience. Worse in some ways but better than others.
Overall asetto Corsa is a no go. Maybe when I do go direct drive I'll try it but for now good god hell no it feels way too rough compared to gt7 and breaks immersion in every way.
So what's next? ETS2 looks really fun but it also doesn't look like racing. I also tried Forza horizon 4 but I know that game is notorious for having bad wheel support. Is Forza horizon 5 better? Some people say a wheel makes them better but if it's anything like 4 it's unplayable. What are Rfactor2 and project cars 2 and are they any good?
I need help. Playstation has 1 game and it's great but PC just doesn't seem to be doing it for me.
Also, don't say iracing. Monthly subscriptions are a hell no.
If it's on steam I'd be grateful, and please don't suggest any p2w games.
Looking for an open world car game on PC that you can have access to a decent amount of cars or pay a few $ to unlock some at the start. It's for my 7 and 9 year old that just want to pick a car and drive around they dont really care about much else. We tried Forza 4, but it's taking a little to long to unlock the cars and a bit of a learning curve for controls etc.
Was considering getting a racing game and wanted it meet the following criteria in terms of:
Closest to real life physics
Closest to actual engine sounds of vehicles in real life
Closest to actual dimensions of the vehicle (I've heard some actually 3D scan real cars and use that for the game)
Has realistic weather conditions (I've heard some don't really)
Has really good graphics (close to real life)
Newer, if possible, and has a lot of exotic cars (mainly would like a game with a Viper, C8, and McLaren 650S)
Realistic tracks (like closest to real life tracks/modelled completely after or closely after real life tracks)
Damage (one that has realistic damage if you hit another car, wall, etc.)
Good Force Feedback
I realize it's probably very unlikely to get a game that meets all the criteria above, but curious if there's one that meets most or if you feel like being detailed, ranking them per category, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
My friend has a slow computer, I want to play a racing game with her, we don't have very much money. My usual racing games is Need For Speed Heat or Unbound, but I can't afford to gift games very often and I doubt her PC can handle that even on minimum graphics.
If youโre a fan of classic racing games, there are some absolute gems you can still play online for free. From old-school arcade racers to retro PC classics, these games bring back serious nostalgia while still being fun today. Some all-time favorites include:
OutRun โ The ultimate arcade road trip.
Need for Speed (Classic) โ Where it all started.
Road Rash โ Racing meets combat on two wheels.
Re-Volt โ RC cars and crazy tracks.
Thereโs something special about the simplicity and challenge of these retro racers. Do you have a favorite classic racing game? Have you revisited any lately?
Cars or bikes both are cool with me. I think I played need for speed as a kid and loved it but I don't really know any of the popular franchise for racing games. Also whichever games you recommend, are they online or is it just an offline game?
Are some more realistic than others with their mechanics ?
Thanks in advance !
Iโm looking for the most fun racing game from the past say 5 years or so. Iโm not looking for the most realistic sim racing game, but something thatโs just fun to play. Iโm on PC and plan on using a regular Xbox controller if that matters.
I played a lot of Cyberpunk recently and I realised that I really enjoy just driving around, so I got in the mood for some racing game. What are the best ones right now to check out?
Can be sim, arcade or a mix of both, it doesn't matter as long as it's good. The only critetia I have is to be able to play it with a controller.
I've been looking for a racing game that ideally is free but could also be less than $20-30 that has car customization and solid racing mechanics. I really enjoyed NFS World (free) but quit when it was obviously trying to make the game painful for you unless you paid real money and when the cars "statistics" were completely worthless (i.e. a "300 speed" car was faster than a "400 speed" car or the "400 handling" car was a tank compared to a "300 handling" car... I'm looking at you, Dodge Charger). Any recommendations?
Nitronic Rush is a pretty fun indie racing game, gameplay is reminiscent of the rush games, and can be pretty fun for a while.
As garyyo pointed out though, Trackmania is probably my favorite multiplayer racing game, I love the idea of all cars being the same and the only way to beat someone is by simply outperforming them.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/11020/ i think its still free, and nothing you buy will actually help you in game. its a bit different though, multiplayer is actually fun too.
So I bought a G29, and I only have 2 games, pCars and ETS2. Also I already have Raceroom Racing Experience but that doesn't work, it disconnects my internet when I load it up.
I think you can still get Copa Petrobras de Marcas for free on steam. It's the game for a touring car series from Brazil, done by Reiza to their usual standards of quality.
RBR is pretty much abandonware at this point, you can should torrent it (edit: don't buy it, you wouldn't be supporting the developers). You can also get race07 for less than 5$ on steam IIRC.
