I am converting my wood fireplace to gas and am looking for the best natural gas insert. Reliability, efficiency, and heating are the qualities I am looking for.
The house is a two story cape cod and has about 1,000 sq ft on the first level with an open floor plan and two bedrooms. I am looking for something that will heat the first level. The house also has oil heat which is getting expensive.
I am lucky enough to have several makes to choose from. I believe the size is 30”

As a service tech, based on that list the heat n glo is what I go back to the least. Also the same company owns heat n glo and quadrafire( and some others not on the list) .

I am in no way knowledgeable and experienced in the fireplace industry. I’ve learned about all this through my previous Reddit posts and google. You all have steered me away from basic logs. We are looking to maximize efficiency and heat our entire living room.
Also decided I want the direct vent option.

I always recommend going to the local store and getting whatever they are most comfortable with. Most of the major brands are very similar in the end. Keep an eye on the options and make sure you get the ones you like. I would skip any kind of Bluetooth and go with the remote. Definitely a blower. Make sure you get 2 full liners all the way up. I really like reflective panels in an insert, really helps the flame seem bigger and brighter. Edit, I work at a fireplace dealer and could get pretty much anything and I picked a Heat n Glo Cosmo insert for my house, no logs and I added the stone kit over the crushed glass. Edit I also assumed you really want an actual insert.
