Best Digital Pianos & Keyboards 2025 (All Price Points)
May 17, 2025 - I learned how to play on a Medeli DP650K, which is a great digital console piano with loads of features only seen in some of the more expensive options in this summary, but coming in at around the $1200,- mark. The K8 keyboard also feels really close to the acoustic Wilhelm Steinmann that I had my first year of lessons on. Not to mention the multi speaker set up that really packs a punch and delivers pretty good sound quality, though the samples aren’t of the quality of any of the top brands that are mentioned in this article, they do still sound pretty great for the beginner looking to buy at that price point.

What is the best digital piano/keyboard I should buy (budget 1k)
A Roland FP-10 or FP-30 has an awesome action and is recent. They have the same action but I think the FP 30 has better speakers. More on reddit.com

Keyboard recommendations for an intermediate piano player!
In that price range a lot of people will recommend the Yamaha P225, Roland FP30X, or the (pricier) Kuwai ES120. It's just preference between those which feels/sounds/looks nicer to you but otherwise they're pretty similar, especially the Yamaha and Roland. More on reddit.com

Coming back to piano - what's the electronic keyboard closest to a grand in terms of key action? (here's a 5 year old clip of my favorite part of Mephisto Waltz)
Honestly not sure that the budget will get you a realistic key action. Yamaha, Roland and Kawai are all good brands and probably the best you'll find at the price level. I have a Kawai KDP75 which I bought because I preferred the actions to the Yamahas and Rolands that I tried, but it's very individual. Reviews said that the KDP125 had a more realistic feel, but the one I tried really didn't. If you're spending more than $500 and can get to a keyboard showroom (or better, several), then there's nothing better than trying various different keyboards and seeing the difference. Best Keyboards for Beginners Under $350 (Apr. 2025)
May 20, 2025 - You still get USB MIDI connectivity, rear-facing speakers that are surprisingly capable for their size, and a sustain pedal included in the box, which isn’t something every brand offers. On top of that, the Liano comes bundled with a Skoove subscription and additional software like Korg Module and Korg Gadget, which expands its usefulness as a learning and music creation tool. If you’re looking for an affordable, no-nonsense 88-key keyboard with a solid piano sound and a refined overall package, the Liano easily earns its place on the list.

Answer (1 of 5): Personally I like and have tried 3 quality brands and these are Kawai, Roland and Yamaha. If you want something really tough to take round to gigs I would also look at Nord, although they tend to be slightly more expensive.

r/piano on Reddit: What is the best digital piano/keyboard I should buy (budget 1k)
May 10, 2024 -

So lately I have gotten invested in pianos and I would like to know what is for YOU the best digital piano/keyboard. I don't have a lot of space in my room so I can't buy the wooden pianos (and they would be a little heavy to move!). SO I have been wondering what was YOUR best/ or what is your best digital piano/keyboard you had? You can recommend any video, review or your own best digital piano/keyboards you had. I would love to hear your suggestions. I know the budget says 1k but if you know one that is a little pricier I won't mind... (Same for the cheaper one!). I know I should probably look at the "there are no stupid questions" post... but I really want to know your suggestions and experiences with those keyboards/digital pianos... (also an 88 key piano would be nice because I won't run into problems with any kind of score that exists.... I think...)

Thanks in advance.

(PS: I wouldn't mind a link to a website that sells them)
