Ok so I’ve been searching and searching for the best music app I have Spotify premium, musi (no ads), YT music Premium, and Pandora and sound cloud
I don’t like Spotifys way of doing playlists or how the music volume is lower on rock music compared to other apps and it’s a noticeable difference, I’ve been using musi for years now but there currently having issues with Apple and YT so I have to have a backup just in case rn I’m looking at YT music premium as my backup but I’m not fully convinced yet

How do I listen to free music?
Which Streaming Service Has the Best Music?
That's not an easy answer. Thanks to—you guessed it—money, some platforms have either gained or lost content. Taylor Swift, Prince, and other artists have seen their catalogs vanish from streaming platforms (and later reappear) due to low royalties. The issue of artist compensation has always dogged the recording industry, and it hasn't disappeared with the advent of streaming music—quite the contrary, in fact.
In some cases, you may be unable to play certain songs on demand; these tracks are only available within the scope of a themed channel. Content restrictions and missing artists and tracks are still a problem in the space, though—Swift notwithstanding—the situation has improved markedly in recent years.
Trying to figure out where things live and how you're able to access them can prove quite vexing to the uninitiated. It's one of the entertainment challenges that we face in the digital age.

An offline music player? A free streaming service or paid?
Edit: I have PowerAmp for my offline MP3 collection. Another app which I use sporadically is AntennaPod for podcasts.
I use the built-in FM tuner app for Milwaukee Brewer games and local news.
and I recently downloaded a really great app called Cloud Radio Pro for streaming music, sports, comedy, news, and talk channel streams.
Best thing is I can manually or schedule a recording of a stream. The app already has over 90,000 channels from the world to choose from and if a favorite isn't there you can add it which I did... adding over 20 local/regional/niche selections.
Kind of upset that I only recently discovered app as it's been around for years. My previous Google Play search strings involved the word FM usually so this app never came up in my results. 😢
I'm guessing most people use Spotify but am legit curious on other's app choices?
My wife & daughter use iphones and spotify (which they have been complaining has been crap for the past couple months), my son uses samsung and youtube music and I use Pixel and Amazon prime music. Trying to consolidate into one music streaming service. Wondering which of these services would sound great across any device.
Edit: Wow so many people for Tidal. I will sign up for the trial and see how good it is. Thanks for all the help.
Edit 2: Decided to do a Qobuz trial also since so many are recommending it also. Now I just have to remember to cancel one lol.
Final Edit: We ended up choosing YouTube music. Everyone in my family picked it. They all listen to it on their phones or cars. I play it exclusively in my truck via Android Auto. Its been 6 months no complaints.
