Hello all,
I have used an OtterBox Defender for years on various phones, and I have never had any problems with them failing to protect my phone. However, I have had a consistent problem with the inner plastic layer cracking and breaking from being pulled out of my pocket. It’s happened on at least three occasions with three separate cases.
This has happened again so I’m in need of a new case, but I’m tired of getting more of the same case that keeps breaking in the same way, so I want to get something else. I’ve used OtterBox cases for a long time, so I’m really not sure what else is good, and reviews I’ve seen online for other brands are a combination of outdated and very mixed. Are there any other good cases out there that protect the phone well and ideally aren’t too slick? I don’t mind bulk all that much, I just want a solid product. This is for an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

This is the first new iphone i've had in 6 years and gee are they expensive.
I'm trying to put them in GOOD cases to protect them but i'm a bit clueless where to start. I've heard otterbox cases are pretty good but i don't know which to get. Can somebody give me a quick rundown on their cases (symmetry, commuter,defender etc)? Thanks

I have the Otterbox Aneu MagSafe case. It’s a good low profile case that leaves the option for mag safe accessories. I currently use the mag safe charger and the convenience and charging speed are nice. With a screen protector I feel like the protection is sufficient for me (I’m a general contractor so my phone does not get babied either). The case does have some small dings/areas where the top layer is starting to “peel back” but nothing crazy. Good grip on the phone while having the same relative shape and size, the ability to use mag safe accessories, and enough protection I don’t get nervous if it drops out of my pocket or truck.

I am using the Otterbox Strada on mine. Love it. I even have one extra laying around. The only problem is the stiffness of the volume buttons. The fix is to cut along them which makes them perfectly normal and you can’t see anything has been done. Sounds odd, but that is the only thing I would improve on this case. They might even have made the change now that the phones have been out for a few months.
