Question about Rewards and getting people to sign up?
It's only the NEXT purchase or visit. But if they have two separate transactions and they sign up with the first transaction, it won't work for the second. They get an email with the 15% off welcome coupon, usually within 24-48 hours. I've had some where the email showed up right away. Sometimes there's a deal where new members get 15% off immediately just for signing up, but i've only been through that once since working here for a year. Not sure when it'll happen again. As of getting people to sign up, I suck at getting rewards so I can't help ya there More on reddit.com

We aren't at my store, no rewards cards, no coupons, no returns, sales are final, no leases and no cc sign ups. Some people being A-holes but one person said I'm sorry your loosing your job let me get you some dinner at least and came back with some arbys for me. More on reddit.com

My manager tried to give me a new script because "our rewards sucks" as in, we're not getting much. My usual script is: greet, ask, ask, and total.
•"Hello, how are you?" (And I mostly get responses)
•"Do you have a rewards number/card (I always ask for a number, but switch to card if they didn't hear me the first time) with us?)
•"would you like to sign up for free?" (If they ask what for, I just show them the slip because I don't have time to explain to them the rewards system)
"Alright your total is (blank)," donation statement, and receipt blah blah blah
They didn't want me asking open ended questions starting with "do you?" And just said to say something like " a phone number for your rewards" in my own words. I tried to do that but was barely getting any rewards, so I went back to my usual "do you?" phrase and got a lot more responses, whether that be with a phone number/email or people wanting to sign up.
Some people do come in with coupons on their emails and it doesn't happen often. Like you said, it barely saves money. It's not worth asking or signing people up

I'm new to my store and I'm looking for ways to help increase our Big Rewards sign ups. Does the Big Rewards 15% off discount apply to the transaction where the customer first signs up, or the next one? And does it have to be over $100 for it to apply?
And otherwise, what usually works for you to get otherwise uninterested customers to sign up?

If I had a hard time convincing someone I used to tell them I could get them a 10% off that day and use the veterans discount 🤷🏼♀️

Let's be honest, rewards is gonna be the last thing that they turn off. Every rewards card that they sign up is another email and phone number information that they can sell in their bankruptcy.
