Quetzalcoatlus - Wikipedia
1 week ago - Among the supporters of the initial size estimates was Robert T. Bakker, who, in his 1988 book The Dinosaur Heresies, contended that Quetzalcoatlus may indeed have reached the upper estimates, and that it may have remained flighted by altering its method of flapping.

This is Quetzalcoatlus northropi. It is the largest pterosaur ever discovered and possibly the largest flying animal EVER! It had a wingspan of around 15.9 metres (59 feet).
That's crazy. Does anybody know why most pterosaurs were mostly just a head? It seems like everyone I look at the majority of the animal is it's head. More on reddit.com

The largest flying predator of all time meets the biggest land predator ever. (Animation by Wobbly Works in youtube: link in comments)
This is terrific. Really captures the eeriness of feeling like you're being watched. I also appreciate that the Rex didn't roar before attacking since no animals do that when stalking prey. The quad launch for the Quetzal was also lovely to see. More on reddit.com

Quetzalcoatlus The largest flying animal to ever live
Scrapped with T. rexes? That's a bit of an exaggeration. This thing weighed no more than 250 kg. T. rex weighed around 8000 kg (if not more). Them fighting against a T. rex is like a seagull fighting against me. All it can do is fly around me being a nuisance, but a single hit from me (or bite for a T. rex) would annihilate the flying critter. More on reddit.com

Could Quetzalcoatlus carry a human?
The results of a computer simulation suggests that the largest members of Quetzacoatlus might be able to carry a person. However, even after taking into account the size of the dinosaur, the dinosaur’s large head, the weight of its human “rider,” and general aerodynamics, it would be a difficult undertaking.

Did Quetzacoatlus eat dinosaurs?
It is unlikely that Quetzacoatlus ate dinosaurs, since it had a long jaw with no teeth, which was better suited to probing for invertebrates in the wet areas it inhabited.

Pterosaur - Wikipedia
1 day ago - They saw them as failed evolutionary experiments, cold-blooded and scaly, that hardly could fly, the larger species only able to glide, being forced to climb trees or throw themselves from cliffs to achieve a take-off. In 1914, for the first-time pterosaur aerodynamics were quantitatively analysed, by Ernest Hanbury Hankin and David Meredith Seares Watson, but they interpreted Pteranodon as a pure glider. Little research was done on the group during the 1940s and 1950s. The situation for dinosaurs was comparable.
