Anyone have any rumors or just any wants you’d like to discuss for the future? The next big camera drop? The next evolution of the UMP. Will a new thing take the $10k spot?
Let’s discuss!
All I ask for is a box style Blackmagic 6K Pro. Building a rig off of the wide DSLR style is super cumbersome. Also, if it had a lens mounting system like the Z Cam E2 series where you could use EF, PL, E, etc., that would be amazing.
Imagine if BMD and Fuji formed an alliance and created a Cinema Camera based on the GFX 100s with all of the pro I/O geared for film production, That would be epic.

Hello everyone. I wanted to talk about 2023 given that its fast approaching and I doubt much more is coming in 2022. The BMPCC 6K has just been updated and it seems like the BMD range is well-settled now. However, I imagine the new Sony FX30 must have slightly put a spanner in the works as it seems to be challenging for the budget cinema crown so the question is, what is coming next?
Personally I would want something with a very small form-factor, but I haven't seen any murmurings on that front so I'm not hopeful! Still I think a smaller version of their existing 4k could be a cool mid-life update but probably isn't worth it for them.
I imagine they'll instead be working on something like an 8K (does anyone know?), but I can't help think that this might not be so useful other than to crop down to 4k (given that almost every device is still HD or at max 4k).
I wanted to know, what have I missed, what is coming and what do people want?
4K Pro with brighter screen, better battery and internal NDs, while trying to keep the camera as small as possible. That would be awesome.
Not sure what will happen, but these are things I can hope for.
What would be cool is a partnership with getting LiDAR focusing options for cine lenses.
A box form factor has a place. Probably won't be a part of the "Pocket" line of cameras, though.
Higher dynamic range.
An IR cut filter in front of sensors.
8K is a logical next step for sensor resolution. Maybe full frame (but not sure if I am in a place where I need that. (Helps compete with RED)
More compatibility/desqueeze features for anamorphic lenses in the software.
