In Microsoft Word how do I revert the template to a blank page?
The image in the BG is actually held in the header. Goto Layout Tab->Arrange->selection pane You will see a group greyed out. Dead giveaway that somethings in the header. Dbl click in the header area and they will become active. If you go back into your document, add a section break and you can have different headers. If you goto the first page of section 2, dbl click the header area. (The header area will also show you what section you are in.) Go to the header and footer tab->navigation->link to previous This will disconnect the section you're in from the one above it. So now if you select the items in the background on the second section header and delete them, you can keep the bubbles on the first page. Now from this point on in this section if you create a new blank page it will not have the graphic in the header. (The circles) More on reddit.com
Apply a new template to the existing word document in office 365
You need to attach it using the Developer Tab. Is that visible in your tabs? It's off by default and once you turn it on, it should always show. If you need to show it, right click in the blank ribbon area and choose Customize the Ribbon. You'll see Developer on the right hand side of the pop up menu and you need to check the box to enable it. Once you click OK and the menu goes away, click on the Developer tab. Choose Document Template button, then click on the Attach button to browse for your new template. Another note - if you want to create something from that template, you only need to double click on it to create a blank document already attached to the template. More on reddit.com
How can I set a default document type for new documents in Microsoft Word?
Every document you create in MS Word is based on an already existing template (a .dotx or .dotm file). You have to choose a template to get started. That’s why Word takes you to that screen. You already have a default template - you get it when you select Blank Document. But, you don’t have to use those defaults. You can use a template some professional has made (which is what you see on the New Document screen), or you can create you own. That way every time you start a letter, business report, or academic paper, it is all set up with the fonts, spacing, and Styles you require. You only have to set those things up once, save it as a template, and you’re done. Here is a video on creating and using templates in Word. (And they work the same way in Excel and PowerPoint.) Macro Running only on new Blank Word Document- How to stop?
Every new document you create in Word starts from a template. If you don't choose a specific template ("Blank Document"), then it uses the normal.dotm template, which is Word's default template. It looks like you have saved the macro to the normal.dotm template, so it is executing on all blank documents. If you have not made any customizations to normal.htm (not many people do who aren't professional writers), then the easiest solution is to blow away the old normal template, and let Word create a new one (which it will do if it starts up and can't find normal.dotm). To do that first close Word. In Explorer navigate to C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. For [user name] look for the folder that matches your user name, or is an abbreviation of it. Rename normal.dotm to normal.dotm.old (you could name it anything - don't delete it so you can always go back to this point if you want to). Start Word. It will create a new normal.dotm based on Word's defaults, and you will be back in business. More on reddit.com
