The 6 Best Bluetooth and Wireless Keyboards of 2026 | Reviews by Wirecutter
4 days ago - Desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, smart TVs, and streaming devices all use Bluetooth, and the best Bluetooth keyboards can switch easily between multiple devices. This guide focuses on wireless membrane, scissor-switch, and low-profile mechanical keyboards. If you’re looking for a wireless mechanical or ergonomic keyboard, head over to those guides.
Does anyone regularly use a mechanical keyboard with an iPad? I'd like to hear about how some of the ways you use your setup when you're mobile.
I use a magic keyboard with a 10.5 iPad Pro all the time for logging things that happened during the day. Journaling basically. The virtual keyboard on the iPad is supposed to be normal sized on the 10.5, but i have to have that clicking while I type. I like the setup, but it takes a lot of space and some might prefer the apple made smart keyboard. It's probably $50 more than the magic keyboard for some damn reason.

Bluetooth keyboards should work. I connected my GMMK numpad to my Dad's iPad not that long ago and it worked no problem. More on reddit.com

Is the magic keyboard the only choice?
I really like the Logitech combo. I use my iPad with and without the keyboard pretty evenly, so being able to detach the keyboard and have a kick stand is really nice. If you want to use the iPad more like a laptop, esr and Magic Keyboard would be the better option. More on reddit.com

Keychron K2 is the only mechanical keyboard you should get for iPad [Review]
December 13, 2019 - It’s an aluminum-encased mechanical keyboard, with LED backlights, Bluetooth and the ability to switch between three different Bluetooth devices. You get a choice of key switches — more on that in a moment — and a USB-C connecting cable for hooking it up without Bluetooth, and/or for charging. But the most important part for Mac and iPad users is that it has proper command and option keys, plus a top row that mimics the Mac’s own media and control keys.

March 11, 2014 - However I do have the Lightning to USB adapter, and it works fine with mechanical keyboards I have tried. I’ve used one I have with knock-off Cherry MX Blues. For fun I’m typing this up on my beloved Apple Extended II via the Griffin iMate Converter as seen here. The only problem is most mechanical keyboards are Windows layout and the fact iOS doesn’t provide a way to switch modifier keys.
