We currently have an Amazon prime account in the business owner's name that several people know the password to. We each have our company cards on the account as saved payment methods and the owner has her personal card on there. We use it to buy office supplies and also the owner uses it for personal things. Would it be better to switch to an Amazon business account? From my understanding, that would mean we'd get better prices on office supplies, but would we lose out on the prime benefits such as free 2 day shipping? It seems that Amazon Business Prime is its own thing but I'm not sure how it stacks up to a free business account or to a personal prime account.

I have a Business account, but without Prime. Yes, I save on certain supplies, but unless a lot is being bought, it doesn't add up to much. I mostly have it to keep my work orders separate from my personal orders. No one has bothered to call me about anything, and it's just like having a regular account. You would have to get Prime for the business account as well or have the company owner see if they can switch it from one account to another. It may be a good idea to wait until close to renewal for the owner to cancel on the old account and switch Prime to the business account.

Amazon Business and Prime do not mix. I found the best deals for my company using Prime. I have two payment methods stored on the 'zon - one for personal and the other for business. Business purchases to the business card, personal purchases to the personal card and I have good bookkeeping to keep them separate.
