First and foremost, I am willing to stain if it is a reasonable project that does not take too long, but I am skeptical of my ability to evenly stain anything.
I have several Acacia wood outdoor pieces that have been under the sun in 100-115 degree summers. They are pretty awful looking. My husband took a pressure washer to them last weekend, but it looks like there is still some of the original oiled finish on some parts.
I am hoping to sand and paint them, but I am not sure what type of products to use. Since they had an oiled finish, should I still go with oil based primer and paint (or maybe a stain)? I've read a few sites that said to use latex based paints, but I've always been taught that was a no-no with anything that had been finished with oil based anything.
Please advise! Thanks in advance!!!
