Google fruit cocktail cake. It's basically a cake mix, a couple of eggs and a can of fruit cocktail (you can add coconut to it as well), mix and bake. Cover with whipped cream and coconut. It's light and fruity and very good. For a party, I also like to make ambrosia (but without sour cream). A can of fruit cocktail, a box of pudding (lemon, vanilla, pistachio or strawberry all work well), 2 cups of cool whip, coconut, and mini marshmallows (bonus colours if you use the flavoured ones that are pink, orange and yellow). Mix it all up and let it set. You can also drain fruit cocktail and add it to jello. Makes for a nice treat. More on reddit.com

If I can’t opt for fresh, I will go for frozen. A lot of manufacturers flash freeze their product and don’t add sugar like a lot of canned products have.
