Hi r/printers,
Hope your day is going well! I have a Canon Pixma TR4500. I recently updated the firmware and since then, I've had the following issue:
-
I get the "install the ink cartridges correctly" error message. 168A.
-
I cannot navigate to any menu to reset settings. When I push any button, it makes a sound that I interpret to mean "no."
I have done the following:
-
Restarted the printer, including a 30 second unplug.
-
Restarted my computer.
-
Removed and re-inserted the cartridges several times (I am confident they are physically in place).
-
Used an alcohol wipe to clean the cartridges, including the metal parts on the front and bottom.
-
Used an alcohol wipe to clean the inside of the printer gently, including where the cartridges join to the printer.
I don't know that the firmware update caused the problem, but it was working before, and now it's not. I figured it was good to mention.
Thanks!
