Android Canon Print can not find printer, tested on two devices (Windows = OK, Apple iPad = OK)

I had this exact same issue. It's been a while but if I remember correctly, go to your wifi settings and you should see your printer there. Connect to your printer and then go back to the app and search for it. It should then locate it. More on reddit.com

I recently found 2 root causes of Canon Printer problems (which are extremely common) in Windows 10

OP respectfully this kind kinda all over the place. Printer pooling (not spooling) may or may not be related here but I suspect you've got a port communication issue with UDP / SNMP / TCP all of the above, possibly made worse or directly as a part of using the WSD port monitor as the target port for this driver. WSD uses a lot more of network functions vs simply setting a static IP on the printer and setting that as the printing port. What happens if you re-enable the firewall, set the port to a static IP, and leave everything else on defaults? I could be wrong but I suspect that should work as-is. Otherwise your instinct to check ports / dropped sessions or packets or whatever at the firewall is a good one. More on reddit.com

I tested two devices, an Android 4.4 tablet and an Android 10 mobile device. This is FRUSTRATING as hell. I logged in on the web control panel of the printer (via the IP) and all settings are at their defaults.

IPSec disabled: this security protocol is not active on LAN

both my android phones cannot even ping the printer even tho they can ping everything else on my network. My windows and mac machines have no problem connecting to the printer. This is driving me nuts
