R6 II, R8, R3, R5, R6 are all pretty close, TBH. But when you say "best choice for low-light", what do you mean exactly—what are you shooting?

I'm planning to upgrade from a 250D to an R6 or an R6 Mark II. I mostly shoot landscapes, but I'm also planning on shooting sports, events and more videos. Here in Italy the 1st gen R6 retails for 1400€, while the Mark II costs at least 1800€. Does the Mark II have any substantial upgrade over the Mark I that justifies the higher price? Like better ISO performance, better dynamic range, better IBIS?

There's a lot of little things that make the R6 ii a better camera overall. The biggest improvement is on the video side, but there are plenty of differences for stills: Slightly higher resolution, faster readout speed, better autofocus, slightly less noise, 40fps, pre capture... Wether all of that justifies the additional 400€ is up to you. It would probably most affect the video side and sports shooting. Lenses are probably more important than the camera, so if it comes down to it the common recommendation is to prioritize the lenses over the camera body. But if you can afford the R6 ii without having to compromise on the lenses I think it's worth it.

R6 or R6 Mark II For stills the R6ii has slightly better AF and a slight improvement in resolution (24 vs 20MP) Depending on the type of photography you do the slightly improved AF could make a big difference, or none at all. The 20 vs 24 MP is insignificant and more to keep the R6ii in line with its competitors, if you feel you need a higher resolution, you would be better with the 45MP R5. For videos the R6ii has a lot of improvements, 6Hr time limit vs 30 mins, less overheating problems, higher video image quality, uncropped higher frame rate video, better overall video spec etc. Here In the UK, the R6ii sells for about 50% or 1.5x more than the R6 secondhand

Hello, I have been an Canon RP shooter for the last year and am considering an upgrade to either the R6 or the R6 mk ii. Reasons for upgrading would be, IBIS, longer battery life, more comfortable form factor, dual card slots, and better dynamic range. I don't currently do much video but like the idea of being able to do video in the future if I choose to. One of the reasons I am considering the original R6 is price. I've noticed that used R6's have dropped in price significantly since the introduction of the Mark II, as expected. Especially in the UK where I am currently living, Park Cameras has a used R6 for £1,559, in "Like New condition." Whereas the R6 MK II is currently retailing for £2,779. Is it worth still considering an original R6 in 2023? Am I missing something?

The original R6 is still a fantastic camera despite being superseded. Most of the significant upgrades in the Mk II version pertain to video use—there are only minor differences between stills shooting with the R6 and R6 II. Unless you're planning extensive video use, there's probably not much to be gained in spending the extra GBP1200 on an R6 II.

R6II just seems like my perfect forever camera. It’ll be a long time before my skills surpass it’s capabilities. Like never. For me, that’s worth the price difference because I know I won’t have to upgrade unless something bad happens to it. The biggest difference between the R6 and the R6II for me was that I totally get comfortable getting rid of our old camcorder. The 6 hour uninterrupted clip is a huge difference from the 30 minute clip limitation on the R6. I know you can record externally- but this is more Christmas morning, stick the camera in the corner and let it run for an hour or two. We do that for a couple family events at various locations so the internal recording is convenient.
