How can I view my balance and recent transactions?
How soon will my deposit be available?
Do I need to notify Capital One if I plan to travel?
went to pay my bill today and capital one no longer accepts debit cards to pay credit card balance. I spoke to customer service who confirmed this.
Hey everyone, hope you can help me out here cause I'm baffled. Sorry if this has been asked before.
My wife has a Capital One card and she likes to throw money at the card a couple of times a month to pay down the statement balance so we don't get charged interest.
Now, for some reason, (I didn't know this until she told me) Capital One doesn't seem to give you an updated statement balance based on credits received, or payments made throughout the billing cycle. When you go to the bill pay option it just shows you your full statement balance, not including credits or payments. My wife has to literally calculate the amount of returns, and the amount of payments, and subtract it from the total statement balance for the month. Then she has to use the "other amount" option and pay the calculated difference. Shouldn't Capital One just automatically do this for you?
I have used Chase card for years, and Chase updates my remaining statement balance throughout the month if I make payments or if I make merchandise returns, etc. When I go to pay, I just choose "remaining statement balance" and go about my day.
Does Capital One really expect customers to track these transactions (credits, payments, etc) and calculate the remaining statement balance? Or am I just not looking in the right place for the remaining statement balance in the Capital One app?
Thanks for the help!
