What credit score do I need for a Chase credit card?
Does Chase do a credit check when I apply for a card?
Do I need a Chase account to get a Chase credit card?
So I want a Chase credit card in my lineup specifically the Flex and Unlimited for their flexibility and usability. I want to get the Unlimited but the Pre-Approval tool says I wouldn’t be eligible. I got my first card in October 2023 and have been denied once by Chase but that was over 6 months ago. I just created a checking account with them and deposited $250. Any advice?
I currently have a 680 credit score (Experian and new credit about 8 months old). I started with Discover It and now have a Capital One Savor student credit card.
I opened my Chase bank account 1 year ago and I use their checking account for everything. (I don't know if that relation helps with credit approval). I want to go for Chase Freedom Flex or Chase Unlimited. However, being a student and also having a relatively new credit history should I apply for those cards?
I also have 7 hard inquiries this year as I did not know applying for credit cards had such effects. (Parents forgot to teach me that).
I am asking here because Chase does not have a preapproval feature and I do not want to have another inquiry on my report.
If not Chase, I plan to apply for Citi Double Cash using their pre-approval feature.
