Was the installer from python.org? You should get a dialogue box and some options to tick when it is running, and it should tell you when it finished. If it doesn't work, I would delete the download and download again. I'd expect you to be downloading: https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.14.0/python-3.14.0-amd64.exe , assuming you are on a reasonably modern Windows laptop/desktop. Give it another try. If it still doesn't work, try installing the Microsoft Windows Store version. (Not ideal, but helps to confirm.) If that doesn't work, try again the python.org download from another Admin account for all users. If that doesn't work ... hum, your system seems to be messed up. You can try using Powershell in Admin mode and using the built-on wget command, and installing and using Chocolatey. Alternatively, use Astral's uv to do your own install of a specific version. Im a complete beginner trying to learn how to code and decided on python, i got the installer, clicked install python, and, nothing.
