Does anyone else find Christmas shopping overwhelming?
I’ve become “the grinch” in my family because I stopped celebrating Christmas with gift exchanges about 7-8 yrs ago. Food? Yes. Cookies? Hell yeah. Christmas movies? Yup. Spending time together? Of course. Anxiety ridden over what to buy people because it’s expected? Nope🙅🏼‍♀️. In my opinion, gifts should be for kids. As adults you’re basically just exchanging money. The last gift exchange I did, we exchanged $25 gift cards so it was like, what’s the point of this? So I always give fair warning to not buy me anything, because I have stopped doing gift exchanges. (Obviously if I had kids or nieces/nephews, but adults? Nah.) More on reddit.com
