I had a small problem with my checking account. I tried calling the customer service number, but that only allowed certain functions and did not seem to have an option to connect to a live representative. I did connect to a rep via chat, but he had no idea how I could reach a phone rep, and just pushed interactive voice response a couple of times.
Does Citibank still have phone reps? Do you know how I can get to one when needed?
Thanks
I just called in to check the mailing status of my credit card which was sent out about 7 days ago. First the agent asks me for all my information and then tells me that he can’t assist me, and that he has to transfer me to someone else. The next agent was even worse.
She asks me for all my information once again, and then when I confirm my name at the end, she goes “thank you so much for sharing your wonderful name.” Wtf?
Then, she repeatedly asks me if I have a secondary phone number that they can reach out to. I replied no each time, after which she literally asks me if I’m at work right now. I reply yes, so once again she asks me if I have a work number I could share? I declined to share it, she goes on asking additional questions such as my childhood nickname, etc. At the end of it, she tells me that they will mail out a verification letter to my address, and I should call them after I receive it. WTF? The only reason I called was to check the status of my card which was sent out and to check if they could perhaps send another card with fast shipping since I’m traveling soon.
Wtf is Citi customer service? Is this normal?
I've read around on here and other threads about cities customer service really not being comparable to a Chase or Amex but I generally take those things with a grain of salt because ppl only tend to complain when somethings bad and not give props when something is good.
My card was mailed 2 weeks ago. I got the email saying that it would arrive by the 22nd at the latest and called in 2 whole days after on the 24th today. The card has not arrived and is nowhere to be found because they don't do tracked mail. I called the number that I was instructed to if the card didn't arrive by the designated date an they just told me "It would not be beneficial to you to get a replacement card". What?
They can't tell me where the card is because they don't track it, they can't expedite me a new card because "the system won't allow it" , they can't give me my virtual card number because the system didn't determine that I should get one before the card arrived, and the kicker they gave me their 'Guarantee'. "I'm certain that the card will arrive by monday, if not we will send another card and it will take another 4-7 business days to arrive." So if it doesn't arrive what, a week late at this point, I have to wait an ADDITIONAL WEEK to possibly get the card delivered in the mail. I've already confirmed the address and everything is correct and checked with my mail office (I have a friend I trust that works there) to ensure the letter didn't fall through the cracks.
Even on a low tier card chase or amex would be able to expedite a new card given the situation. Hell i've even had a deb card expedited before I don't get it.
edit: Just realized Monday is memorial day. That car is not coming for another week I swear.
