What does my license plate donation support?
100% of your license plate donation ($30 minimum) supports conservation and educational programs in Rocky Mountain National Park. Since 2017, license plate donations have specifically helped fund the High School Leadership Corps, a youth program that fosters leadership, environmental stewardship, and hands-on conservation experience.
Does the license plate come with any park access benefits?
No. The Rocky Mountain Conservancy plate is a specialty license plate that shows your support for the park. It does not include entry, reservations, or other access benefits. Standard park fees and policies still apply.
How much do I need to donate to qualify for the plate, and what are the DMV fees?
To receive a Rocky Mountain Conservancy specialty license plate, you must make a minimum $30 donation to the Conservancy’s license plate program.
After your donation, you’ll receive a certificate from us that you bring to your county DMV office to request the plate.
At the DMV you’ll pay:
- A one-time $50 specialty plate fee (assessed by the state of Colorado).
- Standard registration fees and taxes (these vary by vehicle and county).
- If you choose a personalized version, there’s an additional $60-$80 one-time personalization fee and a $25 annual personalization renewal fee.
Your donation and DMV fees are separate. Your donation goes directly to support Rocky Mountain National Park.
