Comenity Bank and Synchrony Bank are related but distinct financial institutions. Comenity Bank is a subsidiary of Bread Financial, which is part of Alliance Data Systems Corporation. Synchrony Bank is a separate entity, formerly part of GE Capital, now operating under Synchrony Financial.
For Comenity credit card payments, you can:
Use EasyPay™ to make payments without logging in: https://www.comenity.net/easypay
Log in via the Bread Financial portal: https://www.breadfinancial.com, which now manages Comenity accounts.
Use the Comenity app or visit: https://d.comenity.net/ac/comenitycard/public/home
Login issues with Comenity are common and often stem from system instability, password mismatches, or browser extensions auto-filling credentials. A workaround is to:
Go to Bread Financial’s website.
Search for your card by brand (e.g., “Ross,” “Ulta”).
This often bypasses login errors and redirects you to a working session.
For Synchrony credit cards, use:
Synchrony’s official site: https://www.synchrony.com
Pay as Guest feature: https://www.synchrony.com/consumer-resources/pay-as-guest – allows same-day payments without logging in.
Synchrony Bank login: https://securelogin.synchronybank.com (for savings, CDs, and bank accounts).
Important: Comenity and Synchrony are not the same. Comenity issues are often tied to store-branded credit cards (e.g., Ross, Torrid, Dell), while Synchrony issues include retail cards (e.g., Lowe’s, Amazon, Sam’s Club), CareCredit, and Synchrony Bank accounts.
I’ve had issues logging in my account with Comenity Bank for quite a while now. It’s either my password being incorrect or the system has trouble finding my account. Usually when I try to log in, I often get a pop up message about my password being incorrect, which is frustrating since I’ve had to reset my password almost every time I try to log in. In the beginning, I thought it may have been my fault...maybe I had used a password I couldn’t remember. In an attempt to prevent this from happening again, I started to note down the new password. As suspected, I continued to run into the same problem. I’ve realized since that returning to log in a few hours later may work which is odd since I still enter the same password I entered during my first attempt… it’s like I have to catch the system when it’s in a good mood to grant me access.
The second issue which stems off of me entering an “incorrect” password/username is that I also have trouble resetting my password. To reset your password, Comenity requires the following:
1. Username/Account Number 2. Zip code 3. Last 4 # SSN
There has been multiple occasions where the system will be unable to locate my account making me doubt myself. I tried using both my username and acct number (incase I also had the wrong username entered) but still nothing. Again, there are days they have no problem finding my account.
I saw past posts with users having similar issues. I understand that it seems like it’s an issue they’ve had for a while but is anything being done? Their website always has a massage about undergoing updates but it seems like little improvements have been made. Not sure if it’s just my frustration.
Any advice on how to handle this? I can’t fathom having to call customer service every time I need access or having them wipe & re-register my account repeatedly.
Thanks in advance!
