Can someone recommend me a good computer desk that fits my need?
The IKEA Gerton desk is pretty great according to answers from people who asked the same question. I'm actually buying it in the next week or so. Its made of beach wood which is known to be durable. it comes without any finishes so if you wanted a different colour, you could dye it. I recommend you at least treat it with some oil (like Danish oil or linseed oil) to keep it from getting too dry. Right now it's priced at £75 but it does not come with legs, you can pay £150 for it with 4 adjustable chrome plated legs which look pretty good but that's very expensive for legs. You could get the cheeper legs they sell (some as low as £5 each). what I'm going to do is put it on top of 2 Alex drawer units but I know you said you didn't care for drawer space. It's really up to you what you do. I highly recommend dropping the BEKANT legs of you plan on modifying this with an Alex.
The ALEX is only 60cm deep, so you might wanna attach it closer to the front of the desktop. I'd recommend getting 3 ADILS legs and attaching them and the ALEX to the BEKANT desktop with screws. You can pick up screws that'll be a lot more stable from any hardware store.

Hi
I would like to purchase an Ikea desk mainly for my monitor, keyboard and mouse.
What I would like the desk to have:
I want the desk to be very simple, I don't need any drawers or stuff like that. I only need enough space for my monitor, mouse and keyboard and some extra space for when I eat so not too crowded but also it doesn't need to be way too large.
Sturdy and long lasting without any complications or headaches
I want the desk to stick to the spot. I know some desks like the one I have right now are with wheels that can be annoying sometimes when they move the whole time when you dont need them to.

I would highly recommend that you do NOT buy a desk new. Check Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and your local secondhand stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army, ReStore). Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, there are probably hundreds of listings for all different types of desks/tables that would fit your needs. I found my dream desk(yuge 6ft x 3ft solid wood top with 2 drawers on either side) on my first trip to ReStore for ~$30. I definitely agree with you on wanted something sturdy. My desk is strong enough for two people to stand on no problem. If I'm putting thousands of dollars of equipment on a tabletop, I don't want it going anywhere.
