So I'm using Corectrl mainly as fancontrol and not for anything fancy as overclocking. But I can't find a way to start the program to let it run in the background. I'm using arch together with i3 wm. now everytime when I startup my system I have to open a command prompt enter: sudo corectrl (Because it doesn't start through dmenu) and then I hide the terminal together with the gui on my last tab ^^"

Assuming one isn’t included with the package, Take a look at creating a systemd unit for it. It’s pretty easy

Just wanted to add for my fellow Hyprland/Waybar users: If you are struggling to get the "start minimzed on system tray" feature to work properly this is what worked for me. The [CoreCtrl Wiki]( https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/-/wikis/Setup ) suggests using an autostart unit. For me, Waybar wasn't starting fast enough to make this work by default, so I changed my exec line in `~/.config/autostart/org.corectrl.CoreCtrl.desktop` to: `Exec=sh -c "sleep 3 && corectrl --minimize-systray"` Also keep the checkbox checked in the GUI. Not super elegant but it works fine for me. Hope this helps!

Has anyone had any luck controlling their AMD CPU Fan control? I been trying to tweak my temps while gaming,...but I dont see any fan controls for Ryzen 7 5800X

coolercontrol can control both cpu and gpu. Keep in mind if you use corectrl the fan setting there needs to be off if you want to use coolercontrol. Problem I ran into.

I literally just switched over to a Manjaro KDE build yesterday. I've dabbled in the past with Linux but only for basic tasks, never for gaming and the like. I heard it was finally prepped for gaming and so far so good but one thing was missing. I missed my Adrenaline drivers and software, cure Corectrl, even the UI is reminiscent but there's one issue.
I have a Vega 56 GPU and a 3700x cpu and while I've got basic functions like fan curve etc on the GPU I don't have voltage regulation etc and my GPU shows up as a generic. Is there any way for me to change this and get full access?
I hear it's possible but the explanations I see when searching turn up mostly guides that assume you know how to do what they're explaining. Can anybody put it simply?

To be able to play with the voltage you will have to do what it described here at "full and gpu control" https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/-/wikis/Setup#full-amd-gpu-controls It's fairly well explained in this link. And this change will work directly after the reboot. Hope it will help.

Here's how I do it: Open terminal, type in sudo gedit /etc/default/grub You'll want to find the line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="randomgibberish" and then copypaste amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xffffffff inside the quotation marks exactly like this: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="randomgibberish amdgpu.ppfeaturemask=0xffffffff" Save the file from the top right corner and then you can close it. Then type this in terminal: sudo update-grub and hit enter. Wait for it to finish. Finally, reboot and you'll have full control over your gpu.
