I'd go for the HP, purely for the processor. It should be great for everyday use and for some gaming. The multicore on the Ryzen will help with whatever workload you have. But you are comparing two different tiers of processors. I'm not fond of Lenovo. I've worked on them at my previous IT job. It's just a nightmare to troubleshoot issues but those were laptops. Great advice about laptops already, so I won’t repeat it. Have you considered a desktop? Imo they’re underrated if you don’t need portability, and a bit easier to monitor kid usage as well. Also less prone to drops, a spill of juice on the keyboard is $20 for a new keyboard instead of a whole laptop, and you can replace components easier. I am currently debating between these two, but if you also dont think they are worth the price they are selling, and have recommendation for something else let me know as well.
I am not much of a computer knowledge and specs person. I am planning to use this for minor small games, photoshop, school, management of work emails, and work from home stuff. Sometimes virtual online projects including conducting various apps at the same time.
Just need something that will not freak out and crash and something that isn't too pricy.

I would personally go with the HP as it has a higher core count processor and a larger screen.

It will be for my parents who use browse the web, watch Youtube videos, and use MSOffice. Based on initial research, I've learned that the HP has a better CPU and that the Lenovo has 4 extra GB of RAM. Thanks for your attention.

Just not sure if they carry anything like this in the warehouse anymore, and I don't really know if there's a way to find out online. Last time I checked there was an all in one for under $1000, might be this one but haven't looked through their computers in a while. They also have a few in-warehouse laptops on sale right now according to Cocowest Blog, including an HP one for $600 (normally $650) and if you want to go real basic a chromebook and headphone bundle for $300 (normally $400). There's a handful of discounted higher end ones for around $1000 too.
