I had them come out and quote a 35%/65% carpet/lvp in the pre-inflation era (2019). Their quote I felt was outrageous, confirmed when I got other local installer quotes. Feel free to see what they say, but make sure to have other local installers take a look. The $250 or whatever it is now Costco cash card for using Shaw is likely not worth it. I ultimately saved about $5000 and still got Shaw carpeting (and provenza vinyl)

I work for one of the subs in a different offering area. Probs not worth it in the long run. Their contracts typically only allow for a 1-year warranty through Costco then it falls to the manufacturer. I feel like if you went with a smaller place you’d probably break even tbh and you’d get better service over the life of the product, whereas the smaller players will almost always offer something way better in terms of service over the lifespan of the product. Even if you end up writing off the ~10-15% shop card that’s offered as costs put back into the project that it breaks even I really think you’d have a far better outcome overall.

I have an appointment scheduled today with the Costco Shaw flooring rep. I am looking to have the master & one bedroom recarpeted & possibly the stairs.
What has everyone's experience been? I honestly didn't think I was going to have the floors re-carpeted so soon, but after spending some time in my new home & seeing just how dirty the previous owners were, I think it;'s probably in my best interest to have this done sooner rather than later.
I'm interested in how folks found the price to be, the installation experience, and everything overall. Costco is now offering a 10% cash card so it seems like a good time on top of the filth ;). I haven't shopped this yet & am not sure I am going to spend the time doing so but maybe quick compare online against Lowes & Home Depot.

It depends. We ended up calling for this service as well and it was just the local carpet place that was the servicing company to come out and talk. Additionally, the carpet was a good $1 more per sq yd compared to other carpeting places. I'd make sure to comparison shop, this is one scenario where we beat the price by going elsewhere.
